Always good to hear more Action Bronson & over Alchemist beats is a nice treat! He’s working with a lot of great producers lately.

& finally, after a frustratingly bad album (I paid ninety nine cents, and was still disappointed!) I’m hoping B.o.B. will bounce back with this mixtape – time will tell!

Album Stream :: Murs & 9th Wonder :: The Final Adventure

Out November 13th!

Their debut collaborative album, 2004’s Murs 3:16 The 9th Edition, is one of my all time favorite albums – they’ve done three more since then (2006’s Murray’s Revenge, 2008’s Sweet Lord, 2010’s Fornever) leading up to this seemingly final release on November 13th.

Complex has the full album stream up now. Below is the video recently shot for “Funeral for a Killer,” dedicated to the Day of the Dead.

Pre-order The Final Adventure (Deluxe Version) now!

Now Playing :: Common, Lloyd & Kendrick Lamar :: My Way

… this is the only track I listened to off this album

Forgive me for posting something off DJ Drama’s album, but this track is “Unfucwitable” as The Lady of Rage would say!

Common has the first verse, Kendrick cleans up on the back end and Lloyd actually contributes a solid hook to this duo’s rhymes and the slick Hit-Boy produced beat.

It’s interesting to me, Common has as many verses on DJ Drama’s album as he does on Kanye’s recent G.O.O.D. Music Cruel Summer album, with just one. I maintain, based off the other tracks guest features this track was accidentally added to DJ Drama’s album. After all, if someone else is producing and rapping … what is DJ Drama actually doing? Maybe DJ Khaled could answer that one? I doubt it.

And by the way if you didn’t get that earlier Lady of Rage reference, here you go;

Now Playing :: Apollo Brown & Guilty Simpson :: Truth Be Told

Dice Game

Dice Game, out this week from Mello Music Group

I’ve known Apollo (one of my favorite producers) was working with Guilty Simpson, but had no idea the album was out so soon! Originally pegged for a November 13th release, and I suspect that is still the physical date – it can be had on iTunes this very new release Tuesday!

Apollo’s haunting basslines should matchup well with Guilty’s brash street rhymes, something Detroit hip hop can be proud of, for sure. The last few Apollo Brown projects have been best-of-the-year quality for me, including Trophies & Daily Bread. Guilty Simpson is a unique unapologetic lyricist with a few underground classics under his belt so far.

Yesterday’s tweet from @MelloMusicGroup

Imagine my surprise when I learned I only had wait a few more days … and I stumbled on a track I missed on their website called “Truth Be Told,” via Bandcamp.

Check it out below, and look forward to this week’s hottest release.
